Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron was born on August 7th, 1975 in Benoni, South Africa. She is of South African origin, but an American fashion model and actress. She has won the Academy Award for her essaying of the character Aileen in the film Monster in 2003. Her father Charles Theron was the owner of a construction company in South Africa. Her mothers name was Gerda and she took charge of her husbands business once he passed away. Charles was of French Huguenot descent and she was of German descent. Charlize's first language was Afrikaans, but she was also fluent in English and could speak some Xhosa too. She has established a typical American accent while speaking English and hence people think she is an American. Theron is a French surname, which is pronounced as Tronn in Afrikaans. Her childhood was tragic because she was the only child of her parents and lost her father at the age of fifteen. This happened by her own mother shooting at him in self-defence, since he used to get drunk and abuse her. Due to the underlying reasons, the police did not arrest her and she was left free.
